K.B.K. Mohan Raju is a cine play back, TV & Radio artist and is contempary to many veteran singers like Ghantasa, SPB, Ramakrishna, PBS,PSuseela, Janaki etc, in Telugu Film industry. He has sung many hit songs in telugu films like Poola Rangadu, Saakshi, Tahsildari gari Ammayi, Maa Bhoomi, etc from late 60's to mid70's This is an attempt to share his singing carier and the songs he sang during his short stint at telugu films and fifty years long association with radio and TV.

As a Singer
Singing Light Music from AIR Hyd from Feb'1959. Given Top grade In 1998. Sang more than 5000 songs in Radio and T.V. from 1959 onwards.

In 1984 Sang entire Bhagavadgita for Krishnananda Matham "Geeta Prachara Sangham", Hyderabad, in Audio Cassettes. The only artiste to sing entire Bhagavadgita in A.P. in 1984.

Play-back Singer with hit songs in Telugu Films like SAAKSHI, POOLA RANGADU, TAHSILDARU GARI AMMAYI, INSPECTOR BHARYA , VIDHI VILASAM, PELLIKANI PELLI,
PEDDANNAYA and many more during 1960's and 1970's.

Participated in various interstate cultural programmes in states like Assam, Nagaland, Manipur & Goa.

Achievements
Singing on the stage right from 1949 and gave more than 6000 stage programmes in Light and Light Classical Music so far. Had earlier Music Training under Sri Kasturi Narsimha Rao Garu of Eluru and under his father Sri K.Sheshaiah Garu a well known Dramatist of Vijayawada. A.P.

Participated in many Pauranic Plays as Lohitasya Abhimanyu and Vikarna in late 1940s.

Won Best Singer's Award from South Zone in the "MURPHY METRO – Indian Singing Contest" at Madras in 1957 for which famous Music Directors of Mumbai, Sri NAUSHAD, Sri C.RAMCHANDRA, MADAN MOHAN & ANIL BISWAS were Judges.

Special Aspects
Particularly popular in singing poems, Ramadasu and Annamayya Keertanas. (Vaggeyakaras of South India) and singing songs & poems on Telugu Language & Telugu Culture ( Andhra Prasasti) besides Light Music.

Formed Ramadasu Project in 1982 and singing Ramadasu Keertanas exclusively from then onwards in various places throughout the country and abroad.

Singing exclusively Annamacharya Keerthanas for the programmes arranged by Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams from the last 15 years. Sang Ramadasu Keerthanas in Audio Cassettes released by Sangeetha Master Recording Co., Madras in 1995.

National Recognition
Given a programme of Devotional & Patriotic Songs in the Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan 1997 held at New Delhi on 05-10-1997 before invited audience. This programme was later broadcast by all the AIR Stations in the country in the National Net Work. The tape was also preserved in the National Archives.

Sang Ramadasu Keerthanas for 30 minutes in the National Programme of Music in Doordarshan Net Work which was telecast throughout the country on 30.12.2006 at 8.30 AM.

Sang Light Music for 30 minutes in the National Programme of Light Music at Mangalore in Feb-2007 arranged by AIR Mangalore.

Empanelled as a Member of the Audition Board of AIR New Delhi, which looks after up gradations in various categories of Karnatak Music including Light Music, pertaining to all the Southern Stations of AIR.

Concerts Abroad
Visited KAULALAMPUR and presented a Cultural programme on Telugu Culture in the 2nd World Telugu Conference in 1981.

Visited USA in July & Aug'1993 at the invitation of Telugu Association of North America, which arranged 20 programmes in various cities of USA viz, New York, Washington DC, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, New Orleans etc., Gave one programme in London also.
